What is a Dog Snood & how does it work?
A Dog Snood is a comfortable & cute solution for dirty ears and dirty ear floof. Worn like a headband on your dog's head, it holds in all of the hair & ear floof so that your dogs can eat their foods, both wet & dry, freely, without you worrying about them getting their hair dirty.
Snoods are most commonly known among certain communities, particularly those dogs with long-ears such as Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, English Setters, Shih-Tzus, Poodles & Doodle Mixes, Basset Hounds, but they can be used for any dogs & even cats!
In addition to being useful for meal time, snoods are also used:
- As ear mittens, guarding from cold weather, or
- As coverings, guarding from burrs & foxtails on walks
Our Story started with Maple & Snoods
Our story at Maple & Paws started with when we designed & handmade this product at home for our own sweet senior Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maple, because her food would always get stuck in her long ears.
Most of the options we found online were made of wool or polyester, which we found were too hot for her, or more ornamental than functional, a common theme we discovered with a lot of dog accessories.
We always wanted to do better for her, to create something for her that would fit "just right" for our Queen.
